<h1>Speakers</h1><h3>Tânia Forster-Carneiro</h3><p>Dr. Forster‐Carneiro is an associate professor at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Her research area is related to supercritical water hydrolysis and dry anaerobic digestion of biomass. Researcher focusing on bioenergy production and application, designing reactors, process variables set-up, and biorefinery concepts. E-mail: taniafc@unicamp.br </p><h3>Solange I. Mussatto</h3><p>Dr. Solange I. Mussatto is Full Professor and Head of the Research Group "Biomass Conversion and Bioprocess Technology" at the Technical University of Denmark. Her group conducts research in interdisciplinary areas including biotechnology, chemical engineering and sustainability, with the aim of creating innovative processes/solutions able to accelerate the development of a bioeconomy, with potential environmental, economic, and social benefits (see more at: www.bcbtgroup.com). She is the Danish representative in IEA Bioenergy Task 42 – Biorefining in a Future Bioeconomy, and vice-chair of the Bioenergy and Bioeconomy section in the European Society of Biochemical Engineering Sciences. Her research area is related to the recovery of bioenergy from agri-food waste using anaerobic digestion processes. Her research is focused on start-up, operation and control of advanced technologies, kinetic modeling, use of biogas and digestate. Her research area is related to anaerobic digestion of industrial wastewater, sludge and agronomic waste. Researcher focusing on bioenergy production, anaerobic microbial ecology and biorefinery concepts. E-mail: rosario.solera@uca.es </p><h3>Miriam Tena Villares</h3><p>Dr. Miriam Tena is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cadiz, Spain. She defended his PhD in 2021 about the treatment of sewage sludge and wine vinasse for hydrogen and methane production. Her main research topics focus on bioenergy and anaerobic digestion of waste, mainly agri-food waste. E-mail: miriam.tena@uca.es</p><h3>Gilberto Martins </h3><p>Dr. Martins is an associate professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). His research area is related to energy recovery of biomass residues by thermochemical and biochemical processes, focusing on anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes and evaluation of the best uses of the biogas and biomethane produced. E-mail: gilberto.martins@ufabc.edu.br </p><h3>Sérgio Valdir Bajay</h3><p>Professor Bajay received a degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), Campinas, CP, Brazil, in 1973, a master´s degree in mechanical engineering, in the area of fluid mechanics and thermal sciences, from Unicamp, in 1976, and a PhD in engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, in 1981. Professor Bajay founded the Interdisciplinary Centre of Energy Planning at Unicamp in 1993, where he was director from 1994 to 1999 and senior research fellow from that period on. During the years 2001 and 2002 he obtained a license from the university to hold a position in the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy as Director of the National Department of Energy Policy. From November 2013 to November 2028, Prof. Bajay was a member, representing the Brazilian universities, on the Executive Committee of Energy Efficiency Indicators (CGIEE), at the Ministry of Mines and Energy . Her research area focuses on systems diagnosis, systemic sustainability assessment for emerging technologies, and the economics of biomass conversion, waste valorization, and ecological engineering. E-mail: selene@unicamp.br </p><h3>Paulo Cesar Manduca</h3><p>PhD in Sociology: Focused on energy in international affairs, Strategy and energy security. Graduated in Social Sciences from the State University of Campinas (1989), Masters in Political Science from the State University of Campinas (1995) and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of São Paulo (2002). He is currently a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Energy Planning at the State University of Campinas, a collaborating professor at the DCP-IFCH-Unicamp and a professor at the Universidade Paulista. <h1>Ph.D. Student Speaker Series</h1><h3>Marcelle Rose Miyazaki</h3><p>Marcelle is a Ph.D. student in Agricultural Engineering at Unicamp (University of Campinas). Currently, her work is related to sustainability and GIS analysis, evaluating Eco-parks implementation models through energy flows and the integration between industries, agriculture and energy production. E-mail: celle.miyazaki@gmail.com</p><h3>Leonor María Sillero Moreno</h3><p>Leonor María Sillero Moreno is a PhD student in the Marine and Environmental Sciences Faculty at the University of Cádiz (UCA). Her research focuses on improving the anaerobic co-digestion of sewage sludge with agri-food waste (wine vinasse and poultry manure), to obtain energy in the form of hydrogen and methane on an industrial scale. Her research focuses on alternative technologies for the reuse of organic matter and biogas production through energy valorization by the use of anaerobic co-digestion of mixtures of different nature and origin.
