An Artathon is a workshop to exchange ideas, experience and strategies in a creative field.

What resources exist to help them better understand the interconnected nature of our planet and develop solutions to turn the tide against environmental degradation?At the “Augmented Europe: Next Challenges” Artathon Berlin, actors will invite you to address these vital questions collectively through a variety of perspectives:SUSA POP, director of Public Art introduces what urban media art can do for climate engagement through social interactions and data visualisation.Through deep research and lyrical prose, Nature Writer MICHAELA VIESER highlights the importance of stories to shed light on the jungles of smart cities and human-affected landscapes. Entrepreneur GEORG BROXTERMANN seeks to integrate pressing environmental issues such as deforestation and carbon emissions into virtual landscapes through his GamesForest.Club initiative. Public Art Lab will be partnering with MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, RIXC Center for Media Culture in Riga, and MADE in Athens. Actors from each region will be able to virtually exchange ideas and insights on the future of Europe. Building on Public Art Lab's practices in urban media art, sense-in-place scenarios, and nature writing, we invite youth to join us in this latest phase of “Augmented Europe - Next Challenges” project, which will subsequently feature an artist residency program along with exhibitions, showcasing groundbreaking ideas and digital innovation on the future of the EU.// Who it concerns :Youth (15 to 29), Artists, Activists, Researchers, Students / trainees, Students, Employees, Freelancers./﻿/ More infoThe Artathon participation requires pre-registration and is free. Certificates of participation can be given./﻿/ Hosted by PUBLIC ART LABPublic Art Lab (PAL) is a Berlin based action research lab and platform for urban media art that investigates, curates, and produces artistic projects in the urban public sphere at the intersection of media arts, urban planning and creative technologies. PAL is specialised in creative citymaking, citizen science and translocal dialogue that empower social interactions and citizens’ engagement. These collaborations create citizens’ platforms, new artistic market places, festivals and networks that facilitate an open co-design process with the stakeholders to facilitate community place-making and neighbourhood building.
