DISCO.NECTA - Fourth Edition at Manly Spirits

We’re thrilled to invite you to the fourth edition of DISCO.NECTA — a party where music, nature, and real connections come together!
Our last editions were a blast, and we’re so excited to do it again.Meet our amazing selectors that will guide you through the event:

Melo is dedicated music collector and selector, Melo brings a deep, instinctive understanding of atmosphere to every set. With a background as a chef, she approaches music with the same focus on balance, texture, and timing, curating sounds that elevate the moment without overpowering it. Her sets draw from a broad palette of genres, shaped by years of exploration and a genuine love of music. Whether playing intimate gatherings or late-night rooms, Melo creates immersive soundscapes that speak to the crowd and the context, always led by feeling, not formula.

EdLyons is DJ, a bass player, bandleader (End Notes) and music curator who has played an active role in the Sydney music community for over 10 years. His group, End Notes, is a sweeping collective of musicians that has grown out of a series of long-running residencies and parties, and has become known and loved for an emphasis on high energy group improvisation whether it be performing original material or contemporary reinterpretations of Jazz, Brazilian, Afro and Latin classics, shining a light on lesser known artists, labels and tunes. Ed has performed extensively as a vinyl DJ across Sydney as part of Vivid and the Sydney Festival as well as a regular guest on 2SER Departure Lounge.

Astronafrica is obsessed with drums and percussion elements that have shaped his musical memory. Diasporic transcontinental sounds, house, jazz with hints of moody dub and psychedelia are insights to describe the musical collage the Sydney based Brazilian born DJ presents. He had already been to Disconecta before, showcasing beautiful records and sets that put us on a beautiful journey.

Lu Faria blends the pulsating energy of Brazilian music with a rich tapestry of Afro, Jamaican music, Hip Hop and beats. Her versatility shines through in her performances, where she navigates between genres, crafting vibrant sets that reflect her vast research and deep love for music. It's also her birthday, so let's all celebrate in a good style!

Last but not least, Dus is the creative force behind Disconecta. Drawing inspiration from his Brazilian roots, he infuses his sets with the rich rhythms of his motherland while seamlessly travelling through other places. Each set is designed to ignite the body, expand the soul, and satisfy nostalgic cravings. His eclectic approach crafts an immersive musical journey that deeply connects with listeners, taking them on a transformative dancing trip.

This time, we’re taking over Manly Spirits in Brookvale, a beautiful venue with both outdoor and indoor areas—perfect for enjoying the music, dancing freely, and sharing special moments.
The party runs from 2PM to midnight, so come early and soak in the full DISCO.NECTA experience.

In addition to the music, we’re also hosting a collective thrift market! Bring your favourite treasures to sell or swap. It’s all about sharing, connecting, and supporting sustainable fashion in a fun, laid-back way.
