Time of Collapse, Collapse of Time: A Psychoanalysis of Perpetual Urgency — In an era of generalized crisis and catastrophe, what becomes of the belief in the future as a horizon of possibility? This talk examines the clinical, cultural, and political implications of living in what Paulo Arantes calls “a timeless time of perpetual urgency.”
IIP Talks is a cycle of free lectures promoted by the International Institute of Psychoanalysis, an invitation to all those interested in getting to know the professors and friends of the IIP's formations- Foundations for a contemporary psychoanalysis and Technique(s) for a contemporary clinic, with a new class opening in September 2025.
The event is an opportunity to dive deeper into relevant issues for the psychoanalytical community.
Jed Wilson is a psychoanalyst in private practice in the United States. An avid researcher of the teaching of the late Lacan and its implications for revitalizing psychoanalytic practice, he has presented his work at various conferences and seminars in the U.S. and internationally. He is also the co-coordinator of TopoLab, an IIP-sponsored research laboratory that studies the points of contact and coalescence between psychoanalysis and the mathematics of topology.
