HOUSE17 Jewellery
When I first started HOUSE17, I always envisioned workshops being part of it. This idea has been simmering under the surface for a while, and in January I set a goal to launch them this year!
One of the reasons I got back into jewellery and started the business was because of how being creative and making with my hands made me feel. I have a busy mind with a million tabs open, always. Being creative quietens my brain, calms me, helps me feel relaxed in my body, focused, and able to shut off all the other noise for a moment. It's deeply soothing and therapeutic for me, something I believe everyone can benefit from in some way.
Creative therapy is nothing new, nor am I an expert in it, but I think many people don't see it as an option because they don't consider themselves "creative." From my school experience, I was labeled "the arty one,” I wasn’t hugely academic but I was quite good at drawing
