Marvyn Harrison
Marvyn Harrison is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant and the founder of Dope Black Dads, a support group and podcast that works to challenge outdated stereotypes about Black fatherhood and cultivate a progressive, inclusive community of parents. Marvyn previously had a long career in music and advertising, spending over a decade in the industry working with a variety of clients, from artists such as Ed Sheeran and Samsung to Manchester City Football Club.
=He started Dope Black Dads on Father's Day 2018, when it was made up of him and his friends sharing their experiences and challenges as Black fathers in a WhatsApp and Facebook group. Today, the organization has reached tens of thousands of people across the UK, US and South Africa, won awards, and created a global collective of mums, dads, queer, disabled, men and women community groups.
Marvyn lives in London and has two children, Blake and Ocean, who star in his picture books I Love Me! and The Best Me!, and with with whom he does confidence-boosting affirmations everyday.
