Southwark Climate Collective
The Southwark Climate Collective is a partnership project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by the Mayor of London.
Led by Better Bankside, the Southwark Climate Collective is a partnership including Southwark Council, Team London Bridge, The Blue Bermondsey and Elephant and Castle Business Forum.
The Southwark Climate Collective builds off the success of the Mayor of London’s Business Climate Challenge . In 2019 the Business Climate Challenge was launched to 19 Bankside SMEs, supporting businesses to reduce energy consumption and decarbonise their business.
Key results from the Business Climate Challenge:
- Pilot businesses reduced energy consumption by 16% on average, saving over £8,000 on energy bills and collectively saving 213tCO2e carbon emissions.
- Most energy savings were achieved through low or no-cost interventions to businesses
- In 2022, the programme was scaled up with over 200 SMEs across London taking action to improve energy efficiency.
By working with local businesses to deliver the Southwark Climate Collective, we’re supporting a thriving green and local economy here in Southwark.
