Washing Locally Since 2012Caitlyn Pisarski (she/her) founded Motor City Soap Company in 2012 and began teaching soapmaking classes in 2015. Since then, she’s shared the science and art of cold process soapmaking with more than 300 soap enthusiasts. Motor City Soap makes vegan soaps and natural body care products that are inspired by nature and handmade in Detroit's Core City neighborhood. All products are made with 100% certified organic oils and scented with plant-based essential oils.Caitlyn is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Detroit in 2010 after completing her MSW at the University of Michigan. She is a licensed clinical social worker and a nonprofit leader in adult education. She lives in the city with her partner Eric and boxer dog, Emma.
