NCNW Long Island Cross County Section
The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Long Island Cross County (LICC) Section, is a community-based organization dedicated to advancing the needs and rights of women of African descent and their families.
Founded by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune in 1935, and led for many years by Dr. Dorothy Height, NCNW's mission is to lead, develop, and advocate for women of color. The LICC Section upholds this legacy right here on Long Island by focusing on vital areas including:
Health: Promoting wellness and addressing healthcare disparities.
Education: Advocating for academic excellence and college readiness.
Economic Empowerment: Fostering financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
Public Policy & Advocacy: Driving systemic change at the local level.
We are an army of dedicated women empowered as agents of positive change within our community. We welcome all women committed to uplifting our communities and pursuing the mission of NCNW.
