Mermaid Burlesque was created by Pina Ocean.

Sultry, salty, silly. Pina Ocean is the nw Tasmanian eclectic witch who lives by the sea in Pantana country. Pina Ocean was born, bred and trained in burlesque in Boorloo/Perth before leaving the mainland, swapping cities and heat for farmland and beach. With over a decade of experience in burlesque, Pina Ocean has performed in numerous shows around WA, (and a couple in Hobart!) produced, worked backstage, created many costumes and probably used 6000 sticks of hot glue. Burlesque has allowed Pina to teach themselves to sew, explore their gender, fall in love with their fat body, and be a blue whale 3 times.

Pina Ocean is inspired by art, nature and intersectional feminism, telling stories whilst being a little bit of a dickhead and feeling really pretty.
