Me and The Moon
We facilitate Process Art workshops for children and creative events for families across Ireland, which are designed to stimulate curiosity, creativity and confidence.
Founded in Bray in 2015, we now have studios at:
- Killruddery House and Gardens in Bray
- Collis Sandes House, Tralee, and
- Muckross House and Traditional Farms in Killarney
Process-driven and inclusive
Each individual creates work unique to themselves, rather than replicating teacher's sample. We allow for creative play and experimentation, encouraging the development of each individual. As well as our private workshops, we are honoured to also work regularly with vulnerable groups in our communities including children living in Direct Provision as well as adults with Autism.
Mutual Respect
Many of our colleagues are creative professionals and work with Me and The Moon alongside their own studio practice. We encourage this as we believe it maintains relevance and improves our teaching practices. We actively encourage mixed ages of children at our workshops, promoting peer-to-peer learning and mutual respect. The first message every child receives is to "respect your work, respect your neighbour's work."
Sustainability
Sustainability is a core value of our organisation and where possible we source recycled and sustainable materials as part of our workshops. Our main goal is to help to grow children's confidence and inspire creative problem-solving.
