Historic Mesquite, Inc. is organized for the charitable and educational purposes of identifying and preserving historic structures, identifying and securing landmark designations for properties, and providing the public with the tools to navigate Mesquite history and culture.

These Texas Recorded Historical Landmarks are amazing looks into the past of Mesquite and those who helped the nourish the growing community.

Opal Lawrence Historical Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and recognized as a Century Family Farm by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Florence Ranch Homestead is an outstanding example of late 19th century rural Texas architecture and early pioneer ranching.Built-in 1871, Florence Ranch Homestead was established two years before the township of Mesquite and grew along with the city.
