I2SL Texas Chapter
The I2SL Texas Chapter was formed in July 2022. The chapter seeks to be a local resource and community for laboratories and other high-tech buildings fostering decarbonization, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices. The chapter offers quarterly and annual meetings focused on technical topics, touring projects, and collaboration with building owners, users, designers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Mission: To engage all stakeholders in advancing the safety and sustainability of laboratories and other high-tech facilities globally.
Vision: I2SL will be the global leader and primary resource connecting all stakeholders and providing information and education to ensure safe, sustainable laboratory design, operation, and use.
The International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) is devoted to the principles of sustainable laboratories and related high-technology facilities, from design to engineering to operation. Through worldwide partnerships and the exchange of technical expertise, I2SL will encourage the development of high-tech facilities that address the rapid pace of science, medicine, research, and development in an ever-changing and dynamic environment.
The Texas Chapter aims to:-Inform laboratory designers, builders and especially users of the importance of sustainable laboratory design and operation.-Educate industry professionals, as well as our extended community of the best ways in which to employ sustainable designs and operations.-Inspire our community to challenge convention and create new environments that are as creative as the science that occurs within them.
