Port Macquarie NSW is home to Australian artist Stu Doherty, the land of the Biripi people inspires and directs his gentle watercolour practice. Born in Camden south west of Sydney and studying at East Sydney Technical College in the late 90’s, the artist has always drawn inspiration from his natural surroundings.

Doherty has exhibited in group shows at QCAD Gallery Brisbane, Lethbridge Gallery QLD, Rex Livingstone gallery Katoomba, Brunswick Street Gallery Melbourne, Corner Store Gallery Orange, Glasshouse Regional Gallery Port Macquarie and was a finalist in the 2023 Elaine Bermingham National Watercolour Prize And took first place for watercolour at the 2024 & 2025 Bonny Hills Art Prize

With an extensive background in the arts, design and education, Doherty teaches all levels of students in a relaxed and supportive environment.
